🎵 A24 Might Be Starting a Record Label—Here’s What We Know About A24 Music

Screenshot from A24 Music.

A24 isn’t just one of today’s most beloved indie film studios—they’re a full-on cultural tastemaker. Whether it’s offering free opening weekend tickets through their AAA24 fan club or redefining the arthouse hit, A24 has built a loyal fanbase by doing things their own way.

Their next possible venture? A record label.

This week, A24 made a cryptic Instagram collab post with the account @A24Music, simply captioned: “A24 Music. Stay tuned.” No other details—just enough to set the internet abuzz.

Here’s what we do know: the studio has a track record of bold music moves. They recently dropped a Stop Making Sense tribute album—honoring the Talking Heads’ iconic concert film—with covers by Paramore, Miley Cyrus, Lorde, The National, and more. That release wasn’t just fan service—it was music curation at its finest.

They’ve also built creative relationships with artists like David Byrne and Japanese Breakfast, and consistently treat their soundtracks with care (physical releases, collector’s editions, etc.). So the idea of A24 Music could go way beyond film scores. It might be a full-on label for original music, soundtrack deep-dives, and artist collabs within the A24 universe.

Whether this means signing artists, launching exclusive projects, or simply giving their soundtracks a dedicated home, it’s a move that makes perfect sense. Few film brands have the cultural cachet and rabid fan loyalty that A24 does—and whatever A24 Music becomes, the fanbase is definitely pressing play.

🍿 Inside the Bluesy, Buzzed-About Soundtrack for Ryan Coogler’s Sinners

One of the most critically anticipated films of the year, Sinners—directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan—has finally arrived in theaters. The two have a long track record of hits (Black Panther, Creed, Fruitvale Station), and the rollout for this latest project has been just as compelling as the film itself.

From a hilarious Hot Ones-style face-off between Jordan and co-star Hailee Steinfeld to Coogler himself breaking down why the film is a must-see in IMAX, the pre-release campaign has been full of moments knowing how to connect with fans. But one of the most buzzed-about pieces of the rollout? The film’s soundtrack.

Ahead of the release, the official tracklist dropped online with one curious omission: Track 7 was listed without a title or artist. The internet immediately lit up with speculation. Then, Hailee Steinfeld—who’s not only a co-star but also a former pop phenom in her own right—posted a cryptic tease simply captioned “track seven.” Fans connected the dots, and days later, it was confirmed: Steinfeld performs the song “Dangerous” exclusively for the film.

What made this moment so special is the way it tapped into the fun of fan culture. If they had just listed her name on the tracklist from the jump, it would’ve been forgettable. But giving fans a mystery to solve? That’s how you build hype in 2025.

Adding to the appeal: the soundtrack itself draws from deep blues influences that reflect the film’s 1920s Jim Crow-era setting, and the score is handled by none other than Oscar-winner Ludwig Göransson, reuniting once again with Coogler. Between the music, the mystery, and the meaning—this is one soundtrack that’s absolutely earned the buzz.

📺 Nate Bargatze Lands His Next Hosting Gig—the 77th Emmy Awards

For the last few years, Nate Bargatze has been riding shotgun on a rocket ship—his comedy career skyrocketing with no signs of slowing down.

He’s hosted Saturday Night Live twice (including a cameo on SNL 50), dropped his latest Netflix special Your Friend, Nate Bargatze last December, topped Pollstar’s list as the highest-earning comedian in the world thanks to his sold-out “Be Funny” tour, starred in his own CBS holiday variety special, and announced his starring-and-writing debut film The Breadwinner (coming in 2026). Oh, and he’s still growing his Nateland comedy empire.

Now, he’s adding another title to his résumé: Emmy Awards host.

Bargatze will reteam with CBS to host the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, airing live on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 8 PM ET on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. He joins a comedic host lineage including Eugene & Dan Levy, Kenan Thompson, Andy Samberg, and Michael Che & Colin Jost.

What they’re saying: “It’s a huge honor to be asked to host such an iconic awards show,” Bargatze said in a statement. “I’m beyond excited to work with CBS to create a night that can be enjoyed by families around the world.”

Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego echoed the enthusiasm: “Nate is one of the hottest comics in the business with a remarkable and hilarious brand of comedy that deeply resonates with multi-generational audiences around the globe.”

What this means for the Emmys: Following the widespread praise for Conan O’Brien’s Oscars performance earlier this year, it’s clear award shows are leaning back into trusted comedians who bring broad appeal and a fresh tone. Bargatze checks every box: star power, comedic chops, and a loyal fanbase spanning generations—even those who wouldn’t normally tune in to an awards show.

We’re excited to see what Bargatze brings to the stage this fall—and where his comedic rocket ship lands next.
